In 1985 my wife and I began to read books written by Watchman Nee. We saw many things in his books, The Spiritual Man, Love Not the World, The Release of the Spirit, etc. We wondered how and where we could find him. We were saddened to find out that he had died in prison in 1972 when he was imprisoned in communist China for his faith. My wife and I were sorry he had passed away.
Many years passed and we heard from a friend that there was a local church in Austin, Texas in fellowship with Witness Lee, a co-worker of Watchman Nee. I called a friend in California and, much to my surprise he was also meeting in a local church in California. He encouraged me to attend the meetings and just enjoy the fellowship from the brothers and sisters. Well, I did, and as I did I began to call on the Lord by name (LORD JESUS) and as I began to pray over a verse that I had known for many years, it became alive with the Spirit. That verse was Romans 12:2, which says, “And do not be fashioned according to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and well pleasing and perfect.” We would like to thank all the brothers and sisters in the local church for all of the feeding, fellowship, and speaking in the church meetings.
